Asia leads growth in waste-to-energy market

The waste-to-energy (WtE) market continues its strong global growth, with Asian leading the charge.

In its “Waste to Energy 2016/17” report, Germany-based consultancy firm ecoprog said that worldwide treatment capacity reached more than 300 million annual tonnes, with close to 2,150 plants operating in late 2015.

Global e-waste recovery growing, despite domestic challenges

MarketsandMarkets (M&M) predicts the e-waste recovery market to be worth US$5 billion by 2020.

The estimated compound annual growth rate (CAGR) stands at 20.6% between 2015 and 2020.

The global report analysed material recovery, source type and geography and took into account, industry trends, drivers, restraints, challenges and opportunities.

Geographically, the report covered the Americas, Europe, Asia-Pacific (APAC), and the Rest of the World (RoW).

Recovery, transport and landfill market growing 7% per year

Frost & Sullivan have predicted the combined transport, landfill and recovery market will grow 7% per year out to 2018.

The prediction comes as part of a new report, The Solid Waste Management Market in Australia, which puts the 2013 value of the market at $6.80 billion and estimates the market will reach $8.21 billion in 2018. The study covers collection, recovery and disposal services.
